Burglary Appeal - Ashton/Stalybridge areas |

|
Greater Manchester Police's Tameside Neighbourhood Crime Team (NCT) are appealing for members of the public to come forward following reports of a number of burglary offences in the Ashton and Stalybridge areas. We have been made aware of social media reports relating to a suspected "sneak-in" burglary in Ashton. A suspect has been described as a white male, believed to be approximately 50 years of age, of slim build, and wearing a large padded or bubble-style coat. In addition to the original report, a number of comments on social media have suggested that other similar burglary incidents may have occurred involving a male matching this description. It is believed that some of these incidents may not have been reported to the police. If you have been the victim of a burglary, attempted burglary, or any suspicious incident involving a person matching this description in the Ashton or Stalybridge areas between 19 October 2026 and 3 November 2026, and you have not yet reported the matter to police, we would urge you to contact us. Please report any relevant information by calling 101, quoting the date and location of the incident. Even if you believe the incident was minor or no property was taken, the information you provide may help us identify patterns, link offences, and support ongoing enquiries. Thank you for your assistance and continued support in helping to keep our communities safe. | ||
